What is LoveDolores?
The concept of LoveDolores is simple. Love Dolores? Help take care of it by bringing your picnic trash to the perimeter bins. Love the park’s rolling hills? Keep cigarette butts and bottle caps out of the grass since both cause damage. Want to protect kids and dogs? Bring cans, not glass, because broken glass hurts kids and dogs first. Love the park community? Make conscious choices so Dolores remains beautiful and fun for everyone. Being responsible parkgoers is not just an act of love for the park, but for each other as well. LoveDolores is a small-scale educational campaign that works to promote park stewardship. We do so through community events, cleanups, giveaways, tabling, and social media content throughout the summer. On a sunny day, Dolores Park sees up to 10k visitors! And on event days, such as Pride or Hunky Jesus, there can be up to 40k visitors. With such large crowds, educating the park community on leave no trace is vital.
